Regional Workshop on Maritime Single Window

The International Maritime Organization is running a regional workshop on the Maritime Single Window under its Integrated Technical Cooperation Programme (ITCP). The Government of Georgia hosts it in Batumi from 9 to 11 September 2026, directly after the Forum, bringing together maritime, customs and port authorities from across the Black Sea and Caspian regions.

What a Single Window does
Operating a Maritime Single Window has been mandatory for IMO Member States since 1 January 2024. It lets ships and government authorities exchange arrival and departure information digitally in one place, cutting the paperwork behind every port call and giving administrations a clearer view of what moves through their ports.
Objectives
- Build awareness of what implementation delivers - compliance with the FAL Convention, trade facilitation and greater port efficiency.
- Share best practice and lessons learnt between countries already operating a Single Window.
- Strengthen regional cooperation on implementation strategies suited to the region's own challenges.
- Open a conversation with potential donors about funding partnerships for deployment in the region's ports.

Each delegation brings officials working directly on Maritime Single Window implementation - one from the maritime administration, one from the customs authority and one from the ports authority, drawn from their ICT or operations departments.
Taking part
This workshop is not open registration. Participants are nominated by their national administrations, and the IMO Secretariat makes all arrangements directly with those nominated.
