Bingbing Song

Bingbing Song is Head, Maritime Training and Human Element in the Maritime Safety Division of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and serves as Secretary of the Sub-Committee on Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping (HTW). The Sub-Committee's current work focuses particularly on maritime training, competence and the human element, including the ongoing comprehensive review of the STCW Convention and Code, seafarer fatigue, and the training needs associated with the transition to new technologies and alternative fuels.

Bingbing has previously worked across a range of maritime safety and human element matters within the IMO Secretariat. He served as an implementation officer for IMO's Goal-based Ship Construction Standards (GBS) for bulk carriers and oil tankers and subsequently served as Secretary of the Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC).
