Nico De Cauwer

Nico De Cauwer is the Secretary-General of the International Port Community Systems Association (IPCSA), a role he has held since May 1, 2023. With over 30 years of experience in the port and maritime sector, he is a leading voice in the digitalization and innovation of global trade.

Prior to leading IPCSA, he served as a Business Architect for Port Community Solutions at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, where he was involved in numerous large-scale digitalization projects.

He maintains a high level of involvement in international maritime policy, serving as an expert member of the UN/CEFACT Transport and Logistics Domain and participating in the IMO's Expert Group on Data Harmonisation (EGDH). Additionally, he contributes his expertise to the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) and the Digital Standards Initiative (DSI) of the International Chamber of Commerce, focusing on harmonizing global maritime data and improving the efficiency of port community systems.
